Now I mostly make from scratch so a) I know what’s in my food and b) I can make sure it tastes scrummy. BUT we’re without a kitchen at the moment while we renovate so most nights consist of easy salads, hot chickens and BBQs when the weather’s warm enough. So when a large box of Old El Paso soft taco kits with ‘just add chicken and onion’ arrived on my doorstep, I skeptically gave them a try. Of course I didn’t just add chicken, I added red onion, avocados, charred capsicum with plenty of coriander and lime and a big dollop of yogurt. They were delicious and what’s more so simple and you can add what you like. The kits comes with a large stack of flour tortillas and seasonings as a base but you can get creative from there.
